Obituary for Clark Kane

Clark Kane
Obituary written and submitted by family:

Clark Douglas Kane
1938 – 2018

Clark Douglas Kane, 79, died of natural causes on Saturday, February 3, 2018. A 50-year resident of Wildomar, California, Clark was born in Riverside where he lived until 1967 when he and his family moved to Wildomar. Following in his father’s footsteps, Clark became a Sheriff’s Deputy for Riverside County. Over his 21 years of service, he held many different jobs in the sheriff’s department including second Deputy at the Elsinore sub-station. During his law enforcement career, Clark built many lasting relationships with other officers.

In 1961, Clark married Crystal Karstens from Riverside. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the summer of 2011 with friends and family. Crystal passed away in December 2011.

After retiring from the sheriff’s department, Clark and Crystal opened “Granny’s Delights” ice cream parlor in Sun City where they greeted customers with warm smiles and cool treats. Being an avid story-teller, anyone spending time with Clark would think he had lived several lifetimes and was indeed an expert on most subjects.

Clark spent much of his spare time tinkering with cars. Whether working on them with his son, going to car shows, helping Don Vesco with his land speed record vehicle (the Turbinator), or working as an automotive machinist, Clark always enjoyed being around cars.

Clark is survived by his four children and four grandchildren: son, Cameron Kane (wife Dana) of Lake Elsinore, three daughters, Margaret Betancourt (husband Carlos) of Anaheim, Sharon Kane of Wildomar, and April Mascaro (husband Kevin) of San Bernardino with their four children, Michael, Steven, Angela and Rosalee.

Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 17th at Calvary Chapel Lake Elsinore, 107 N Riley Street, Lake Elsinore.
