Obituary for William George Barberie

William George Barberie
William (Bill) Barberie passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was our father, our strength and our inspiration.

He was born on August 9, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to John Frank and Irene Elaina Barberie. He married Carol Sandra on October 12, 1964, who proceeded him in death.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Leslie (Rob) Blount of Bartlett, Illinois, Stacy (Jeff) Clemens of Temecula, California and a son, Corey (Jennifer) Barberie of San Marino, California. He doted on his five grandchildren, William, Mackenzie, Ryan, Kendal and Caroline. He is also survived by a brother, Jim (Janet) Barberie and Joyce Francis.

His occupation as a mold maker kept him busy building parts for many items you may find around your house. He worked for several shops before purchasing a shop and renaming it Barberie Mold. He enjoyed the independence of owning his own business and his work was respected by many in the industry.

Outside of work he enjoyed coaching sports. His passion for sports inspired many children to do their best and succeed. Personally, he enjoyed countless rounds of golf. He also enjoyed attending Kings hockey games and sprint car races. He sponsored several sprint cars and worked in the pits optimizing and repairing the cars. Annually he vacationed at Millerton Lake where he would relax, ski and share his love of the lake with his family and friends.

After Carol passed, he was lucky and was “Matched” with his second love online, Connie Digerlando. She inspired a passion for travel, card games and entertainment.

He was a wonderful friend, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandpa and “Papa Bill”. He loved his sweet dogs, Snickers and Money, and working on restoring a classic Mustang. He enjoyed sharing stories, where the careful listener could gain numerous nuggets of advice.

As he leaves his friends and family behind, please join us to honor his memory. We will have a Celebration of Life on Monday, February 26 at 11:30 am at Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, 24651 Washington Ave, Murrieta. A reception with light lunch will be held immediately after in the Stacy’s home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Diego Zoo, In Memory of William Barberie, San Diego Zoo, P.O. Box 120551, San Diego, CA 92112 or online at sandiegozoo.org/memorial.
