In Loving Memory of Sumana Kakumanu
Sep 22, 1972 – Aug 30, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Sumana, who left us on August 30, 2024. She was a loving mom, wife, sister, and a dear aunt. She is survived by her daughter, son, and husband. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Sumana always put caring for her kids before anything else. She would give anything to protect them. She loved gardening, listening to music, and watching old classic movies. She had a special fondness for the street-side Indian food of her younger days. Her creative way of thinking outside the box, frugality, and street smarts were admired by many.
She was a loving, caring, intelligent and compassionate woman who strongly believed in giving back to nature and the community. She loved spending time decorating for Halloween and Christmas, bringing joy and festivity to her home. A go-getter at heart, she loved traveling to India to visit her parents.

Sloka from Bhagavad Gita
“न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचिन् नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूयः। अजो नित्यः शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे।।”
“Na jāyate mriyate vā kadācin nāyaṁ bhūtvā bhavitā vā na bhūyaḥ. Ajo nityaḥ śāśvato’yaṁ purāṇo na hanyate hanyamāne śarīre.”
“For the soul, there is neither birth nor death at any time. The soul has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. The soul is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, and primeval. It is not slain when the body is slain.” (Bhagavad Gita 2.20)
Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. We invite you to join us in celebrating her life and honoring her memory.
Om Shanti! 🙏
