Mark William Stahlnecker

July 27, 1979
October 15, 2023

Mark William Stahlnecker, of Murrieta, CA, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 15, 2023, after an intense battle with a motor neuron disease. He passed away at home with his devoted wife, Shannon, by his side. He was 44 years old.
Mark was born on July 27, 1979, in Oregon City, Oregon to Dennis (Denny) and Marjorie (Margie) Stahlnecker. It was in Oregon where he met and married his best friend, Shannon Sholtz. The two of them moved to southern California in 2014, where they began a family and beautiful life together.
Mark lived by the moto “Work hard, play hard.” His work ethic and drive for excellence was unmatched. He held double Master’s Degrees and worked in the world of business/finance and healthcare administration. In his down time, there’s no place he’d rather be than spending time with his wife and two boys. He enjoyed planning family vacations, beach trips, visiting national parks, hiking, camping, riding dirt bikes, home brewing, hosting backyard BBQ’s, and watching sports.
Mark was also known for his lifelong pursuit of deepening his relationship with the Lord, not shying away from wrestling with the hard questions of life. He had the gift of hospitality and was a friend to everyone. Mark had the ability to identify and talk with people of all walks of life. He enjoyed entertaining children and adults alike, volunteering his time working with youth groups and leading community groups.
Mark’s infectious smile and unique sense of humor will be missed by all.
Mark is survived by his wife, Shannon, and two sons, Axel and Liam; his parents, Dennis (Denny) and Marjorie (Margie) Stahlnecker; and four brothers, Dennis (Denny) Jr., Irvin and wife Angelie, James, and Evan Stahlnecker. Mark is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved him dearly.

We still hear Mark’s laugh down the South Point complex where our friendships and families grew together. Even though Mark was a Vikings fan, and I a Packers fan, we enjoyed watching and talking about football (and most sports) together. We even got to enjoy watching our college teams playing against each other in the Rose Bowl in person, and he came out the victor w his Ducks winning. We enjoyed many evenings hanging out together with a drink just talking and laughing for hours about life. He was a great father and husband and always thinking about his family. I was lucky enough to be able to spend a little time with Mark recently. I know he was probably not feeling great but he played it off like only Captain Awesome could. We will always have a piece of Captain Awesome with us, and though we will miss you, we will never forget what you brought to our lives Mark. Thank you for sharing your life with us. RIP our brother.

Dear Stahlnecker family, Our sincerest condolences go out to you in your time of loss. The hurt and pain you feel is natural even though death is such an unnatural event. Take peace in knowing God is providing your loved one the best possible loving care and He also is caring for your needs too. Psalm 94:19 tells us "When anxiety overwhelmed me, you comforted and soothed me." Our prayers and kind thoughts are with your friends and family as an extension of God's unfailing love. The scriptures have brought us comfort when experiencing loss and has given us God's plan for those who've passed from our lives. For comfort from the Bible please visit https://bit.ly/truthlifedeath
