Maria Archer, 76, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home02/03/2023, after a lengthy illness. Maria was born in St Joseph, Barbados and moved to London, England at the age of 17 , where she met andmarried the late David Archer and they raised 3 three children together. At the age of 36 she moved her family toBrockton, Massachusetts so she could be closer to her mother and extended family. In retirement she moved to SanDiego , CA, where she resided for the past 9 years. Maria had a passion for taking care of people and took great pride in her nursing career, from working in theoperating room to private care. She also went to college in Massachusetts and obtained a degree in psychology. She enjoyed traveling and visited many countries over the years while still making frequent trips back to her homecountries of England and Barbados. Family always came first to her and every trip always included several familymembers. Maria was the daughter of the late Maude Ashby (Cox) and Gordon Gill. She is survived by her four children, sonRobert Cox and his wife Ruth of San Diego; daughter Yvonne Archer Chu and her husband Jerry of Brockton;daughter Jane Archer of Milton; and son Carlos Archer of San Diego; her grandchildren, Dana Archer, NatisiaArcher, Aaron Baldasaro, Joanna Archer, James Smith, Andrew Smith, Richard Gilmour, David Gilmour, AnthonyCox; and 9 great grand children. She was predeceased by her precious granddaughter Tiana Baldasaro. A private family ‘ Life Remembrance’ will be held in San Diego, CA.
