Bruce McLeod Marshall 1936 – 2025

Bruce McLeod Marshall Age 88, of Temecula, CA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and children on February 26, 2025.

He was born in New London, Connecticut in 1936 to Hillman and Laura Marshall. Bruce was educated in the New London school district before earning his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He retired after a 40-year career at Electric Boat in Groton, CT and looked back on his time there with great pride.

Aside from his career at Electric Boat, Bruce coached little league baseball and served many years as a school board member and a chairman of Lyme-Old Lyme Public Schools.

In retirement, Bruce loved playing golf with his wife and enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 63 years Jerilynn (Murtz) Marshall and his three children Debbie Cleary of Simi Valley, CA, Chris Marshall of Hampton Beach, NH, and Jennifer Russell of Temecula, CA.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Some people stay with you all your life, Bruce is one. He was a such a decent man who had the ability to make others laugh and smile. Never (I mean never) did he have a negative thing to say about his family. My family still share amusing events that he helped create. As my Dad would often say "Bruce is a keeper" What exactly that meant was often missed by adolescent stupidity on my part, but as I aged I began to understand. He was a good man! Jeri, Deb, Chris & Jen My heart goes out to you at this time and praying for you and your family. ps. Bruce still owes me for 3 cords of fire wood! :)
