In Loving Memory of James Adawag
With heavy hearts and deep love, we remember James Adawag — a devoted husband, loving father, loyal brother, and cherished friend — who passed away on April 4, 2025, in Murrieta, California.
James was born on April 22, 1965, in Maina, Guam, to Alfredo and Genoveva Muna Adawag. He was one of six children in a close-knit family. His childhood on the beautiful island of Guam was shaped by faith instilled by his mother, the value of hard work from his father, and endless laughter shared with his siblings. The bond he shared with his brothers and sisters — Lani, Rose, Jesse, Joseph, and Jerry — was rooted in love, respect, and honor, qualities taught by their parents who hoped these values would guide them throughout their lives.
After graduating from Father Duenas Memorial High School, where his Catholic faith deepened, and lifelong friendships were formed. James worked tirelessly to support his family, taking on various jobs with unwavering dedication.
Perhaps the greatest blessing in his life came in 1994 when work brought him to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii — where he met the love of his life, Riza. Their relationship was built on friendship, respect, and faith. In 2002, their joy grew even greater with the birth of their beloved son, Patrick, who became the center of James’ world.
James’s humility, curiosity, and dedication were truly admirable. He was always eager to learn — whether deepening his knowledge of his trade, exploring financial opportunities, trying alternative medicine, or simply satisfying his endless curiosity. A true jack of all trades, he could do everything from fixing an aircraft to teaching others what he knew — always generous with his time and knowledge.
James earned the respect and admiration of everyone he worked with through his strong work ethic, humility, and quiet dedication. He was the kind of man who would offer help before you even realized you needed it — never expecting anything in return.
Beyond his career, James was a humble man with a big heart — like a strong teddy bear. Soft-spoken, yet when he did raise his voice, it commanded attention and respect. He had a playful, mischievous side, often making his mom laugh, but he was also the family’s peacemaker — having breakfast with one brother and lunch with another sister.
James found joy in life’s simple moments. He loved golfing and bowling, which connected him with both old friends and new ones. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends, always ready for a new adventure. He was the kind of man who would spend money relocating a beehive but wouldn’t dream of replacing his favorite, tattered shirt.
Those who knew James will never forget his gentle smile, easy laugh, and unwavering love for his family. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke louder than any speech — always kind, always dependable, always present.
James is survived by his loving wife, Riza, and their cherished son, Patrick — the two people he loved most in this world.
He also leaves behind his siblings and their families:
James touched every heart he encountered, and we are forever grateful to have shared part of life’s journey with him.
