In Loving Memory of Robert Keith Goins

With profound love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Robert Keith Goins of Murrieta, California, who died peacefully on August 4, 2026, at age 62.

Robert was born on May 14, 1964, in Loma Linda, California, and throughout his life he exemplified love, strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, beloved son, brother, and loyal friend whose presence and quick wit brought laughter and joy to everyone who knew him.

As a husband, Robert built a life centered on love for his family. He and Melissa first met and began dating in high school, a bond that grew into a partnership lasting more than four decades.  He was a steadfast source of support, always putting his family’s needs before his own. Over their 42-year marriage, Robert and Melissa built a life woven with moments that shaped who they were as a family.

As a father and grandfather, Robert’s greatest joy was his family. He took immense pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow, celebrating every milestone and offering guidance through every challenge. More than anything, he loved being known as Pa—a title that brought him endless happiness and reflected the special bond he shared with each of his grandchildren. His lessons of kindness, integrity, hard work, and compassion will continue to shape their lives for generations to come.

Robert dedicated 35 years of his career to the construction industry as a water truck driver and proud Teamster. After retiring from the Teamsters, he went on to work for Statewide Traffic for a period of time. During his career, he also served as a Shop Steward and Foreman, consistently showing reliability and a strong commitment to his work and his union. He approached every role with steadiness and pride, earning the trust of those who worked alongside him.

Robert embraced life fully. He loved spending time at the beach, cheering on his favorite sports teams, studying the racing form, spending days at the horse races, and volunteering at PGA golf tournaments. His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts—he lit up every room with a joke, a smile, or a story that lifted spirits. He carried a happiness that made everyone around him feel welcome and at ease. Whether with family or friends, he found joy in bringing people together and making every moment count.

Robert will be remembered most for the laughter he brought and the genuine kindness he showed to the people in his life. Though his passing leaves a deep void, the memories he created will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Robert is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Melissa; his children, Lindsey Coleman and her husband, Andrew, Kyle Goins and his wife, Ashleigh, and Carley Goins; his cherished grandchildren, Kiley, Brayden, Clayton, Brooklyn, Payton, Asher, Karson, and Taylor. He is also survived by his mother, Bobbie Anderson, and stepfather, Dave Anderson; his brother, David; his sister, Vange Cruz; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bradford Goins.

A Celebration of Life will be held in September/October 2026, with the date, time, and location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to UC San Diego Moore’s Cancer Center to support pancreatic cancer research, in hopes of helping future patients and families in Robert’s memory.

“The true measure of a person’s life is found not in the years they lived, but in the love they gave, the lives they touched, and the legacy they leave behind. Robert’s legacy will live on through his family, his friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.”
