“Remember the Good Times”

Roberta “Jean” Borgogno Travers

August 27, 1937 – September 9, 2026

Roberta was born in Monterey Park, California, she was raised in the City of Industry and lived in a tiny farmhouse on Lomitas Avenue.

Roberta grew up within a family of avocado growers, hay farmers and hay haulers. Roberta attended Pomona Catholic High School and for extra money during her summer’s she would work as a print and commercial model for Barbizon Modeling Agency in the 1950’s. She modeled for pepsodent toothpaste, orange crush soda, Indian motorcycles and Hot Rod magazine, to name a few.

After high school Roberta married and had two children, a daughter Lori Marie and a son John Michael. Her son John Michael sadly passed away in July of 1998.

During Roberta’s career, she worked for over 30+ years in human resources within the Aerospace industry. In retirement she and her brother, Stephen Michael Borgogno, inherited their parents, Stephen and Lillian Borgogno’s 350-acre alfalfa ranch and together they ran the ranch for over 20 years.  The ranch and property the siblings inherited had been in their family for 75 years. Running this ranch was Roberta’s greatest joy and enjoyment, she was extremely proud of this ranch, the heritage and legacy until the very end.

Roberta was a loyal, strong, independent (before her time) woman.  Roberta’s Catholic faith was so important to her. Roberta lived her life to the fullest, with love, happiness, joy, faithfulness, loyalty and gratitude; however, she experienced great sorrows too.  One would call this … a life well lived.

Roberta had a smile that was so infectious, she had a loving and generous heart. Roberta was so very appreciative of all those who loved her and cared for her until the very end of her life.

Roberta was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother “aka Grammy” and friend to many.
Roberta is survived by her daughter, Lori Marie and Grandson Clark Stephen and her love and best friend, Joe Beck.

One of Roberta’s favorite sayings “Remember the Good Times”..

Mother, I will miss you terribly.

Roberta – loved and cherished by so many – you will be forever missed.
