Amanda Eccles Swann

September 14, 1979
March 18, 2024

“I AM THE STORM” and “I’VE GOT THIS” were the valiant battle cries we frequently heard in her fight against this horrible cancer. She was courageous and brave, but she ultimately lost her last great battle and passed away on March 18, 2024 at home with her family.

Amanda Eccles Swann was born on September 14, 1979 in Ogden, Utah, youngest daughter of David and Carol Eccles. She attended schools in San Ramon, California, and met the love of her life, best friend, and soulmate there. She married Jason Everett Swann on June 20, 1998 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mandy and Jason have three children: Olivia, who is 18, Bentley, who is 14, and Fallon, who is 11. Nothing meant more to Amanda than her family.

Mandy was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a worker in the Primary and Young Women’s Programs. She has felt the arms of her Heavenly Father and Savior encircling her throughout this ordeal as she prayed for comfort and peace.

Mandy loved her family and her animals: horses, dogs, cats and chickens, and they all adored her. She was loved by all who knew her and made everyone feel accepted and loved. Her home at Christmastime was a wonderland as she and Jason worked together to make the decorations magical. She especially loved her Dicken’s Village which Jason would artistically construct and create every year with her. She also loved to travel with her family to Hawaii, and loved being with her extended family as well, wherever that may be. She brought immeasurable joy to all her family.

Mandy has been reunited with her Grandparents and her brother, David, on the other side of the veil. She is survived by her husband, Jason, and the three children, Olivia, Bentley, and Fallon; her parents David and Carol Eccles; her siblings, Chad Eccles (Shauna) from Riverton, Utah; Camille French (Paul) from Phoenix. Arizona; Brandon Eccles (Annalise) from Highland, Utah; and Melyssa Cabrera (Carlos) from Fresno,California, and 19 nieces and nephews. On the Swann side, she is survived by her in-laws, Abbie and Jim Gillespie, her father-in-law, Neal Swann (Debbie), half-sister-in-law, Jolene, her brothers-in-law, Justin Swann (Emiko), Jeremy Swann (Gayle), and Jake Swann (Leilani), and seven Swann nieces and nephews.

Amanda’s funeral will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11:00 am, preceded by a viewing at 9:30 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 38980 Sky Canyon Drive, Murrieta, California. She will be buried at Murrieta Valley Cemetery, 42800 Ivy Street, Murrieta, California on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Flowers may be sent to 24651 Washington Ave, Murrieta, CA 92562.

As a kid, I loved going over to Mandy and Jason's house when we lived in Las Vegas. Mandy was always so full of love. You could see it in her eyes and hear it in her voice. She showed me some of the classic movies like Singing in the Rain or Down with Love. She would take me to Coldstone Creamery and get disappointed when all I wanted was a scoop of chocolate ice cream. She couldn't even fathom wanting such a bland flavor among so many options. She always made me feel like a million bucks by complimenting my eyebrows or calling me a cutie. She brightened any room she walked into. I'm going to miss her dearly but I know she's in a better place. See you again one day, Mandy. I love you.

I’ll never forget the first time I officially met Amanda at the park across the street from my house. My daughter Ena recognized Liv from her public school days so we started chatting. The next thing I knew we were in the “homeschool moms club” sharing ideas and the day to day ins and outs of homeschooling our kiddos. Finally I had found a friend who loved all things design and all things nature just like me! I will always treasure our walks at Harveston, our tea dates at the Press coffee shop and the deep conversations we shared about life and the Lord! Amanda had the brightest eyes and most beautiful smile! I miss you my sweet friend but will see you again someday!!

My more than 4 decades of knowing and loving Mandy began when she was an adorable three year old with a passion for life that was infectious. She was fiercely independent but absolutely devoted to her beloved parents and siblings. Lunch at the Cottonwood Mall, swimming in the aquamarine waters of Lake Powel, immersed in the magic of Shakespeare at the Festival in Cedar City, shopping for Jr Prom formals, and watching in wonder as this now beautiful woman married the love of her life are only a few of the many memories I will forever cherish! Heaven is brighter today as our Mandy shares her light and love with the angels. God be with you, precious princess, until we meet again

I have always been in awe of the things Amanda would create and make. She could make just about anything and she was so good at it. She has a wonderful eye for design. She is the type of person who knew what she wanted and if it wasn't available, she would build it. Whether that was something for her home, a homeschool where her kids could thrive, or taking care of a horse!

My sweet baby girl is always in my mind and heart. As our youngest child, we shared more alone time together while her siblings were in school. Her favorite thing to do was to go to the Mall near our home and have a hotdog on a stick. As a little girl, she sucked her two middle fingers of her right hand and loved to be rocked in our gold loveseat. We could sit for hours rocking and holding each other. I love you and miss you so much, Mandy. You will be forever in my heart.❤️

I will always remember your laugh and the fun we had together. You gave an amazing fight and now you finally get to rest. You will forever be in my heart ❤️ Love you so much, Mand!
