It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness to announce the passing of Dr. Carlos Busuego Ferrer ll on April 27, 2023. He was born in the Philippines on December 28, 1941, to Carmen and Bienvenido Ferrer Sr.
For Dr. Ferrer, caring for others always came so naturally. Knowing that he wanted to do more with his knowledge and heart, he went on to medical school, attending University Santo Tomas Medical Academy. He graduated in 1969, specializing in the pediatric department. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Ferrer moved to the United States and completed an externship in New Jersey. In 1980, he opened and led his own medical practice for forty years before becoming the chief of staff at Los Angeles community hospital. Due to his commitment and steadfastness in this role, the hospital’s library was named in his honor.
In Dr. Ferrer’s free time, he enjoyed playing chess and sudoku. He also found peace of mind and tranquility being outside, watering, and taking care of his garden. He was a proud member of Tau Mu Sigma Phi fraternity.
Dr. Ferrer is survived by his wife Susan of thirty-four years, his sons Paul Vincent, Carlos Boyski, and Carlos Brandon. He welcomed his first and only grandchild, Cooper Boiske Ferrer, in October of 2022. Dr. Carlos Busuego Ferrer ll paved quite the path and leaves behind an amazing legacy. He will be greatly missed, and may he rest in eternal peace.
