Carrie Carr

September 7, 1940 – November 20, 2024

Carrie Carr was the 7th eldest child of James Mc Clinton and Willie Mae Mc Clinton.  Over the span of 84 years, she was blessed to become a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend positively impacting the lives of all who were blessed to know her.

She was born in Poplar Bluff Missouri where she spent her earliest years before the family relocated to Gary, Indiana at age 12.  Her father James worked for the railroad while her mother Willie Mae was a housemaid allowing them to support what would eventually become their 12 children.  All told, there were 7 girls and 4 boys who all endured humble beginnings as a growing family.

As a young girl, Carrie was affectionately known as “Bob” growing up; a name that stuck with her throughout her lifetime by those closest to her.  She was given the nickname as a young girl due to being a tom boy who consistently participated in activities usually reserved for boys like sports and climbing trees.  It was also not unusual for Carrie to be found in the company of her younger sister Ruth as they were extremely close growing up.

In 1960, while living in Indiana, Carrie married Victor Reynaud Carr. During the marriage, they welcomed her first son Victor Reynaud Carr Jr. After dissolving the marriage, Carrie relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1970.  Two years after arriving in the Golden State, she had her second son Milo.  Carrie and her two sons eventually settled in Carson California, where she resided for over 30 years.

To support herself and her family, Carrie found employment with the County of Los Angeles where she provided 37 years of dedicated service. Her job duties initially consisted of clerical work where she eventually earned a promotion to a supervisory position.  In the interest of reducing her commute for work she transferred to a position supporting the pharmacy at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance California.  She retired from the County of Los Angeles in 2011 and relocated to Murietta California in April of the same year.

Carrie’s biggest interests included her faith, family, and making her house feel like home!  In her later years, she was devoted to her weekly prayer line where she rarely missed a call.  Most of her television time was spent on watching the SBN Ministries broadcasts.  She was also a proud member of Revival Christian Fellowship Church in Menifee California.  In addition to her devotion to the Lord, Carrie loved her two sons, six grandchildren (Jasmine, Justine, Devon, Milan, Jonathan, Sienna) and four great grandchildren (Harley, Nyomie, Brently and Jackson).  Nothing brought her more joy than family gatherings in the home she spent so much time preparing and decorating for special occasions!

Carrie leaves behind her two sons Victor and Milo, her siblings Mary Mc Clinton, and Flora Mc Farling, her grandchildren Jasmine, Justine, Devon, Milan, Jonathan, and Sienna, and her two great grandchildren Harlie and Nyomie.  She leaves behind a rich legacy of love, faith, and kindness to all who knew her.  May she rest in heaven forever in the presence of the Lord!
