It is with extreme sadness that the family of Dirk A. Holt announces his passing on April 26th, 2024, at his home, at Lake Hemet Campground, Mountain Center, CA. Dirk was born on May 20,1965 to Shirley M. Holt and Donald A. Holt in Redlands, CA.
Dirk spent almost 15 years with CDF/Cal Fire as a Firefighter in Riverside County. Most of his time was spent in the San Jacinto Battalion 5 and Moreno Valley Battalion 9. He later went on to work for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife residing at the Hot Creek Trout Hatchery in Mammoth Lakes, Fillmore Trout Hatchery, and San Jacinto Wildlife Area.
He enjoyed listening to his fire scanners, watching the Dodgers, NASCAR, NHRA Drag Racing and On Patrol: Live. He liked gel pen coloring and loved taking his dogs for rides on his golf cart. Dirk was known to be the life of every party, always making everyone crack up and was a master at the grill.
Dirk will be lovingly remembered by his father Donald A. Holt, brothers Donald C. Holt (Darlene), Dayle D. Holt (Connie); sisters Dana “Kiki” R. Brisco, D’Anda M. Holt, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his loving and loyal canine companions, Banjo and Barnie. He was predeceased by his mother, Shirley M. Holt.
A service to celebrate the life of Dirk Holt will occur with details to be determined. A direct cremation is being facilitated by Murrieta Valley Funeral Home.
For several years, Dirk endured many health issues brought about by a debilitating chronic skin disease called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Memorial donations in Dirk’s honour may be made directly to the HS Foundation, https://www.hs-foundation.org/donate.
He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
