May 14, 2025

Donna C. Doyle-Derr (née Aigner) was born on December 28, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, where she spent most of her life. She died peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2025, in Murrieta, California, where she has resided for 21 years. As a youth her summers were spent in Green Bay, WI. She held a love for and lifelong connection to each of these places.

Donna lived a life full of loving her family, her friends and she exhibited her caring in many ways. She had a passion for music, cooking, art and literature. Donna loved to play board games like Monopoly, Backgammon and Scrabble, and quite enjoyed winning.

Donna had a deep appreciation of the wonders and beauty of nature, including animals and sea creatures. She liked to travel, especially to be with her family. She was a very hard worker throughout her life and she gave generously. She was creatively talented and expressed it in many forms and projects, many which she has gifted to loved ones. Donna loved much, survived much and will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Alvina; her much-adored husband, Greg Derr; and her dearest daughters, Deborah J. Hauck and Dawn C. Doyle. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Patrick Doyle.

She is survived by four children:

· Kevin A. Doyle (Elizabeth Moran)

· Karen A. Roy (Larry)

· Timothy P. Doyle (Anabell)

· David B. Doyle (Leslie)

· Her bonus daughter, Nicole Derr McKenna (Jaimie)

She is also survived by her dear cousin, Robert Breister (Joann).

Donna leaves behind 12 grandchildren, into whose lives she poured love and created joyful memories: Shannon N. Doyle, Brian L. Hauck, Matthew C. Hauck (Sanny), Michelle K. Hauck, Theresa M. Martinez, Kristy P. Jackson (Brett), Kelly C. Oomens, Thomas S. Doyle, Naomi F. Doyle, Patrick T. Doyle, Delaney M. Doyle, and Shane A. Doyle.

Donna has also enjoyed remotely seeing the lives of her bonus grandchildren, Jax and Indie McKenna, who live in Australia.

Donna was further blessed by the lives of her 10 great-grandchildren, who love their “GiGi” and have fond, fun memories of time spent with her: Micah C. Hauck, Eliana J. Hauck, Jared I. Hauck, Nathan G. Hauck, Alexa K. Martinez, Daniel M. Martinez, Claire D. Oomens, Ethan S. Oomens, Joah T. Doyle, and Nathaniel D. McGraw.

She will be deeply missed by her lifelong friend, Gayle Kiser, and her “Super Angel Friend” and life-helper, Diana Camba, who sacrificially cared for Donna and her family with devotion and love. Donna was also blessed with a gentle, patient team of hospice nurses over the past two years. Their care and friendship meant the world to her and her family, who are deeply grateful.

She had a deep love for her two dogs, Sammy and Jack, whom she considered her “boys.” Donna was gifted with the extraordinary care of their vet, Dr. Ross and his team, who went above and beyond to meet the needs of both Donna and her dogs. Dr. Ross’s decision to adopt Jack gave her great peace of mind at the end of her life, knowing her beloved companion would be in a loving home. Her family will always be thankful.

She will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Your Kelly
Gramma Donna Doyle-Derr may you rest in peace. You loved with your whole heart. You taught us about the rat pack, great movies, “David’s drums”, “twinkle toes”, car squeaky horns, love, laughter, Five Alive OJ, “raw hamburger meat”, twist and shout, creativity, making: candles, doll houses, sworvski art, crystals, Christmas stockings, sewing, ironing (what’s that? 😏), Streisand, Gene Kelly, Doris Day, and so much more!! 3 generations of family will miss you terribly. You had the best laugh, your clothes always smelled so fresh and clean, taught us backgammon, my favorite movie summer magic. You were so strong and brave through everything in your life. I am glad that I was able to share the sentiments with you a couple of weeks ago and you provided me support and encouragement still I love you so much, grandma. May you rest with your daughters Auntie Deb and Auntie Dawn. 🙏🏻♥️

Donna was a very special lady. I was blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with her, especially this last year. Her 90th birthday was extra special with being serenaded by a Frank Sinatra singer. Donna I really miss you. Thank you for all your love and support. You will always be in my heart. Love, Diana
