My grandma was a woman with a vibrant personality and a servant's heart. She was willing to do anything asked of her from helping tile a floor to allowing her grandchildren to do her hair and makeup without complaint. She would often thank me for giving her the opportunity to help me. She has been a great friend, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and so on. She loved her family and couldn't wait to introduce us to everyone she knew and made sure others knew that she belonged to us. It has been hard losing such a vital part of our lives, but we know she is in heaven, telling everyone that she is related to us and getting everything ready for us for when we join her. I love you, Grandma!

My Grandma Donna was a great influence in my life. I spent a lot of time with Grama in my youth. With her actions she showed me acceptance, caregiving, generosity, crafting, how to praise the lord and find comfort in his promise. My favorite memories are her letting me do her hair and makeup (and pretending like it was amazing), letting me blast the radio in her front yard to perform my skate routine (and cheering me on), all I can eat junk food, Disney everything, singing me ‘Irish eyes are smiling’ when I couldn’t fall asleep, and of course discovering the umm funny collectibles kept up high. She let me contribute my arts in her church craft fairs and gave me dollars to spend in her neighborhood garage sales. Her Advent gifts were epic. She introduced me with pride to everyone in her path. Grama was always excited to see me and was always there when I needed her. She pronounced my name ME-lissa. Grama will always live in my heart as a source of love. I am Donna’s seventh grandchild, Melissa.

My Grama Donna was the greatest grandmother anyone could ever wish for. She was kind, loving, forgiving, silly, and generous. When I was little she would let me do her makeup and hair, take me out for fast food, let me stay up late watching Disney movies, let me leave a light on at night, and always had plenty of my favorite sodas on hand! She taught me card games, baseball, cross stitching, first aid and always answered every question, including, "but why"? I watched her save my cousin's life when he was choking.... She was a real life hero! She would take me to The Salvation Army to show me off to all her friends, she was always so proud of me and made me feel like a star! I would play in her backyard for hours playing with 1950's toy blocks and trucks. Fiddling in the garage with tools and crushing beer cans. Some of my favorite memories were Christmas's with grandma and all my cousins. She wrote me letters while I was in the Army and ministered my wedding after I got out. My grandma was always there when anyone needed her. She was active even into her 80's driving around her friends, going to church, and helping anyone who needed it, including myself. She was very active in my kids life as well, helping watch them, encouraging, supporting and teaching them. My children and I are lucky to have spent so much time with her, playing games, reminiscing and hearing stories about the old days and the family. She was a hard working, tough lady that never lost her will. I know that she is now where she told me she would go one day..... with the lord in heaven. Rest in Peace Grama Donna, I love and miss you! You live on in my heart. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. - Amen

My great grandma, one of the strongest and most resilient people I know. She lived through a lot, always helping when she could. A life dedicated to Christ, with several missions to help the most unfortunate. From firefighters after the September 11 attacks, to religious organizations in Israel, to giving me rides to school in the morning. My great grandma was so selfless and caring. The impact of one woman has reached thousands, the world is a better place because of my Great Grandma. I will always be grateful for how she helped our family, let us into her home, trusted and cared for us. I love you so much Grandma, I know you continue to serve God as you watch over our family.

Great Grandma was always somebody I looked up to. It didnt matter if it was being a devout follower of Christ, or just having an amazing outlook on life, I constantly strive to be a better person and am great full to have such a great role model to keep me inspired! Shes in a better place now and one day, all of us will be there with her, thinking back on how silly the thought of sadness is.

Great grandma was one of the influential people in my life, I remember watching Shirley Temple with her and all the hours she dedicated to my brother and I, I was completely in awe of all her dolls (even the creepy ones!) she loved collecting things and they were decorated throughout our home, she was a friend of all, and she had such great compassion for those around her, I remember being scared of needles and getting a shot and her telling me to look at her tongue, and from that day forward I think of her tongue when I'm scared of something, she had a youthful heart, even when the wrinkles had reached her tongue, she taught us card games and all the hours of playing war with her will never be forgotten, despite our generational difference she was a huge part of shaping me as a an individual, I am forever grateful to God for allowing for allowing me not only to meet my great grandma but to grow up in her presence, when so few have this privilege, I rest easy knowing she lives amongst the ivory kingdom she dedicated her life to.
