Hugh Roger Johnson, Jr. We are heartbroken to share the news that on January 14, 2023, Hugh Johnson (81) passed away in Murrieta, California. He was born on April 14, 1941, to Hugh and Helen Johnson in Cavalier County, North Dakota. He grew up on his family farm in Wales, North Dakota and later joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country from 1961 to 1964, during the Vietnam War. Hugh’s career was spent primarily in the medical manufacturing industry. He spent many years living in the Bay Area of California and later moved his family to Temecula, CA in 1983. He enjoyed working around the yard, watching sports, particularly basketball, and he loved the Lakers. He enjoyed telling stories about the good old days and more than anything, he loved spending time with family and his grandchildren. He regularly attended his grandchildren’s soccer games, gymnastics lessons, and he loved walking them to school each day. He will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Kelly, Sue, and David. Hugh is survived by his son, Brian (Laela) Johnson, his two grandchildren, Christopher Hugh and Jillian Elizabeth, and his siblings, Nick Irwin and Luella Beam.
