The Best Dad Ever!
Our Precious Dad, also known as Papa, Brother and Uncle, passed away March 10th, 2025.
Dad was born in Pennsylvania 09/16/1937 and moved to California at the age of 10. He started our family in 1957.  Never knew anyone who treasured and adored their family as much as Dad! He loved his family more than life itself! You always knew he would be there for you immediately If you ever needed him!
Emotionally, a repair or just help with a grocery list, you could always count on Dad!   (“Johnny on the spot!”) Remembering as a child how hard Dad worked and continued working hard  his later years.
Dad fought with all his might to recover from his stroke over the past 4 months. Unfortunately, he continued to have brain bleeding and decline.
Dad was so Brave! His Faith was never ending his whole life!  He is the strongest and smartest man we know!
We will miss you forever Dad!
Love Your Devoted Daughter and Son

Mr Pontoriero was definitely a man who did things his way. Coming from childhood without a father watching be supportive of his kids and grandkids was beautiful to see. He was a loyal leader and staple to the family and will be missed dearly. Rest in heaven John we will see you again.

Some of my earliest memories of my Uncle Johnny were of his big home out in the "country" where he had horses and a big pool and jacuzzi, and going with him to watch horses race at Santa Anita. I remember him always being "dressed to the nines" with nice clothes and gold jewelry. In fact, at my wedding some people asked if he as in the Mafia lol. My Uncle Johnny always said what he thought and didn't act phony - so much so that you could always count on him to say something inappropriate - but funny - at family gatherings. He was larger-than-life and full of love for his family and life itself. Reposa in Pace my sweet Uncle Johnny

Uncle John was bigger than life. All heart, All love and selfless to the core. Would do anything for the ones he knew. i remember meeting him the first time coming into the family. He gave me a huge hug and said just call me "Uncle Johnny" From that day, he was Uncle Johnny, "The Godfather" One of my favorite memories, was him finding out from my mother-in-law, his sister, that Warren and I wanted to have our dining room chairs reupholstered. He called us and let us know he wanted to do this for us and planned a date. Drove by himself from California to Arizona for a weekend to handle the task. In our driveway with his set-up and with our oldest daughter, who was less than 2 at the time, and right by his side the whole time he completed all chairs in record time. After he finished the chairs he proceeded to make an Italian dinner with homemade marinara sauce which was amazing! He spent the weekend spoiling us unselfishly! Love you Uncle John and welcome home with the most High King!
