Louise Fern McGuire Obituary

Louise McGuire a longtime resident of Murrieta CA passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2024. She lived with her daughter and son in-law after the death of her beloved husband in 2023. She was 92. Louise was born on April 26, 1932, in Robinson Kansas to Harold and Josephine Curtis. Louise was the youngest child with three older sisters; Marie, Wilma and Marjorie and brother Orban Dean who passed away as a baby.

Louise graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1950. She was active in the school’s marching band as their star majorette. She met and fell in love with Dale McGuire whom she married on September 9, 1951. They were blessed with four children: Debra, Kim, Daniel and Kelly. Louise cared for the children and home when career opportunities frequently moved their young family in Kansas, to Colorado, Washington State and eventually retiring in California.

Louise was a committed helpmate to her husband and wonderful mother to her four children. She was a homemaker, talented seamstress and took part in a bowling league where she earned 200 club status with her team. Louise organized family outings regularly. She made the best drive in theater movie nights in a station wagon super fun.

She and Dale were often off traveling the world. She would tell you though that her favorite pastime was spending time with their children and grandchildren that call her the best grandma. She brought the family together over a meal complete with yummy homemade treats like lemon meringue pie or strawberry shortcake.

Louise was best known for her fierce determination, selfless spirit and her undying loving devotion to her children and grandkids. She loved playing games, watching her shows, shopping, going to movies and taking drives.

Gardening was Louise’s daily pleasure. She found great joy in caring for beautiful flowers and feeding the hummingbirds. She nurtured seedlings, pruned, replanted, and enjoyed sharing the beauty of her flowers with others. One always knew where to find her!

She is survived by her children, Debbie (Mark), Kim (Mike), Dan (Teresa) and Kelly, her grandchildren: Michael (Jamie), Shawn (Valerie), Spencer (Katie), Jeff (Carley), Barret (Jackie), Conner (Lillian), Drew, Dallas, Tyler (Abby), Jeremy, Kailie (Roland), Jesse (Alexa), her great-grandchildren Taylor (Andrew), Jacob, Finley, Mila, Reese, Ryan, Hayes, Nash, Tayler, Alivia along with Olivia, her great-great granddaughter.

May Louise rest in eternal peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

Plans for Celebration of Life Service to follow.

One of my more recent memories is of a trip we made to San Clemente for dinner. Mom was such a trooper, walking up the hill, using her walker, smiling all the way. Great table and views on the deck. We enjoyed listening to the surf below as she remembered the special times she and Pop had there. It was one of their favorite spots! I miss you Mom. 💕
