Madge E. Brown (Seivewright), was born on June 11, 1937, in Clarkstown, Trelawny, Jamaica, the fourth of eleven children and to parents, Conrel ‘Papa Con’ and ‘Mama Alice’ Seivewright. Madge passed away on July 7 th , 2026, in Lake Elsinore, California, USA. Madge is survived by her five children: Marcelene (Tallie), Maurice, Kenton, Bridgett and Ronald. She was predeceased, over 50 years ago, by her husband (Ronald Brown, M:1957), and five siblings.
She is survived by sisters Clover, Cecile and Deloris; brothers Dennis and Calvin; grandchildren Tissan, Matthew, Giselle, Nikolai, Ronnie, Ryan, and Noelani; great grandchildren Tatiana, Gabrielle, Malachi, Nehemiah, Sydney and Shiloh; along with cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, dear friends and many acquaintances.
Madge grew up initially with her parents and was raised under the guardianship of Aunt Emmy Rutland, from Falmouth. Madge accompanied Aunt Emmy’s move to Kingston. At 18 years, she met a young aspiring accountant working at Cable and Wireless, Ronald Arthur Brown. Two years later they were married.
In 1976, after her husband, Ronnie, passed away, Madge realized the diminishing economic prospects in Jamaica, and realized the need to reinvent herself. In 1980, she migrated with three of her children to the United States; with very little resources, but a passion for a better life-story. Initially, and with the help of some relatives and friends, Madge determined to make the family’s mission to not only survive but thrive…and she did!
Madge has been a faithful Jehovah’s Witness for nearly 50 years. She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in April 1978. She Regularly Pioneered in 2004 and attended Pioneer School in 2005. Many of her brothers and sisters have missed her door-to-door service during her extended mobility limitations; however, she still managed to continue her service to others.
Madge was adventurous, resilient, selfless, giving supportive, and caring…always! She was also admired for her jovial and engaging personality. If she had your number, you could expect a brief call just to see how you were doing. As an exceptional cook, horticulturalist, private nurse’s-aid, and an all-around “can-do” attitude, were qualities that served her well through many of life’s challenges…this will be her legacy!
