Our beloved, Makayla McGregory, of Murrieta, CA, was called home to be with Jesus on July 27, 2025. Makayla’s radiant spirit shone brightly, touching countless lives with her kindness, infectious smile, and joyful laughter.

Born in Hawaii, her family moved to Washington state and later settled in California, which she considered her forever home. Makayla is survived by her father, James McGregory of Menifee; mother, Sarah McGregory of Murrieta; her brother, James (Nicole) McGregory of Menifee; and sister, Emily McGregory of Irvine; along with two cherished nieces and a nephew and many more who are family by friendship, including the D’Amato family of Murrieta.

Makayla was a dedicated student currently attending Mount San Jacinto College. She was a recent graduate of Paloma Valley High School where she successfully and proudly completed the Biomedical Pathway, earning her white coat. As an avid horse lover, she participated in gymkhana, enjoyed trail rides with friends, held dreams of opening an equine rehab center, and loved her horse deeply. Makayla was advancing in agility with her dog and was set to compete in her first league.

Over the past year, Makayla’s faith had bloomed. She was baptized in October at Orchard Church where she was guided along the path that Jesus set before her. She loved attending church every Sunday and was always encouraging others to know and experience the endless love of God as she did her best to live out her faith through loving others and helping anyone she could.

In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count; it’s the life in your years.” Makayla was full of life and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, our beautiful Makayla. You will forever be in our hearts – always cherished and never forgotten.
