AndersonAugust 20, 1950 – January 23, 2024Murrieta, CaliforniaMalcolm Anderson, born in Kansas City, MO, to the late Malcolm and Stina Anderson, passed awayon January 23rd in his sleep of natural causes. Malcolm is survived by his son, Evan Anderson(Chelsea), two grandchildren Sunny and Archer, brothers Anthony and Christopher Anderson, andthree nephews and three nieces.A graduate of Wheaton Christian High School, Malcolm went on to have distinguished service in theU.S. Navy and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State PolytechnicUniversity, Pomona.During his six years of service in the U.S. Navy, Malcolm graduated from nuclear power school inIdaho and served on the fast-attack nuclear-powered submarine USS Pintado as the nuclearreactor operator. Malcolm received the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious UnitCommendation, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and First Good Conduct Award. Malcolm’s submarineservice was based in San Diego and took him all over the world over the oceans and under the polarcaps in defense of his country. Once, while home on leave in Kansas City, his mother remarkedwith love that he had a glow about him, to which Malcolm replied, “Mom, I sleep next to the TridentNuclear missiles.”Upon completion of military service, Malcolm resided in Oceanside and Murrieta, CA, serving as aSenior Project Manager for Southern California Edison, retiring after thirty years in 2013. Malcolm’scareer began with nuclear power generation at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant, where hemanaged the Nuclear Supply System (NSS) engineering group of twenty-five engineers. He also hadexperience with fuel for power generation from coal and natural gas.A man of few words, Malcolm enjoyed the outdoors, military history, and reading. He was aresolute father and brother. “Malcolm Evan’s many years of journeys over deep waters are overwith the promise of eternal peace and rest.”
