In Loving Memory of Marissa Delphina Chavez Dydasco
On August 24th, 2023, the world lost a radiant soul as Marissa Delphina Chavez Dydasco, aged 26, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in San Diego. Born on August 15th, 1997, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Marissa’s journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain etched in our hearts.
At the tender age of 2, Marissa’s family embarked on a new chapter, settling in Murrieta, California, where she was nurtured by the warmth of a large and loving family alongside devoted friends. Rooted in faith, the Chavez family shared a profound connection with their church, exemplifying their love for the Lord through their unwavering commitment. Marissa’s family was not just bound by blood; they were united by their shared passion for adventure. Boating, wakeboarding, hiking – they embraced every opportunity to revel in the great outdoors, creating memories that grew richer with time.
Marissa’s spirit radiated through her vibrant childhood. From an early age, she immersed herself in various pursuits, embracing soccer, dance, and gymnastics, showcasing her natural athleticism and zest for life. High school saw her flourish as a Cross Country runner and a spirited Cheerleader at Murrieta Valley High School. But Marissa’s talents transcended the realm of sports. A gifted pianist, she wove melodies that resonated with people’s hearts, sharing joy through her enchanting musical expressions.
Yet, it was her capacity to love unconditionally that defined Marissa’s essence. Her passion knew no bounds, as she welcomed everyone into her heart with open arms. She navigated life without judgment, nurturing and leading others, much like a mother hen watches over her brood. Marissa’s presence illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know her, leaving an indelible mark that will continue to inspire for generations.
Marissa’s legacy lives on through the profound impact she had on her loved ones. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Charleston Dydasco, who walked by her side as they embraced life’s journey together. Marissa’s memory will forever reside in the hearts of her father, Jeremy Chavez, her mother, Michelle Abercrombie, her stepmother, Deborah Chavez, her cherished sisters, McKenzie, Ariana, and Hannah Chavez, as well as her brother, Von Chavez, and step-brothers, Chase and Lee Trulove. Additionally, Marissa’s light touched a wide circle of family and friends, each of whom will carry forward the love, compassion, and joy that she shared so freely.
Marissa was saved by Jesus Christ and today is in his presence and under his care forever.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
As we gather to remember Marissa’s beautiful soul, let us celebrate her life lived fully and her heart that knew no bounds. In her memory, may we find inspiration to love fiercely, live passionately, and embrace each moment with the same unwavering spirit that defined Marissa’s remarkable journey.
Rest in peace, dear Marissa. You will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever cherished.

Marissa was such a beautiful person filled with the brightest light and warmth. My sister and I had so much fun together with you guys during those Thanksgiving holidays. And along time ago when we were in Lake Powell. When we were kids joking about there being sharks in the water. My family and I send you our deepest condolences, for your family in this difficult time. From all of us in the Sauvageau family! We send you are love.
