Michael Charles Smith

May 26, 1949 – September 10, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Charles Smith, 76, on September 10, 2025, in Menifee, California. He was born on May 26, 1949, in Binger, Oklahoma, to Keith and Gloria Smith.

Mike pursued his interests with passion throughout his life. As a young man, he was a debater and an athlete, playing both football and tennis. Later in life, he became an accomplished skeet shooter. A proud and dedicated Mason, he was honored to serve twice as Grand Master of his local lodge. He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino.

After graduating from Elsinore High School, Mike felt called to serve his country. He joined the U.S. Army and was deployed to Vietnam, where he served with distinction on a DE Americanization team. There, he lived among local villagers, training them how to protect themselves and use radios for support. He was honorably discharged after completing his tour of duty.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, his wife Juanita Mae Smith. He is survived by his son Travis Smith of Canyon Lake, granddaughter Britney Smith, grandson Travis Smith Jr.; grandchildren Skylar Allen, Hailey Little and Kyle Hunke; great grandchildren Kylee Hunke and Gwen Allen; his daughter Nico Bimbo of Lake Elsinore and granddaughter Brook Bimbo;  stepchildren Frankie Murray, Jodie Chournos and her children Allyssa Brimuela, Ashley Lange, Andrew Goossens, and Rusty Brueske; his brother Greg Smith; and his sister Sandra Brogden.

A service and celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Wildomar Cemetery on October 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

Whenever we think of him, we will remember his smile and hold his memory in our hearts forever.
