Nassef Mickail Francis (December 9th, 1949 to November 3rd, 2024)

Nassef passed away suddenly on November 3rd, 2024, in his home at the age of 74. He and his family have lived in the Temecula Valley since the early 1990’s.

Nassef Francis was born to his parents Mikhail Francis Nakla and Oginia Baki Nasr in Cairo, Egypt and was the oldest of his four siblings, brothers Adel, Ezzat, Emad, and sister Eman.

Nassef married Julie Celena Laybourn on September 20, 1977. He then journeyed to the United States to make a new life and enjoyed greatly his adopted country. He is survived by his wife Julie, his daughter Christina and her husband Bradley Carson, son Brian and his wife Tamara Francis, and is the loving grandfather of three grandchildren, Katelynn, Savannah, and Lucas.

Nassef was a first-generation immigrant to the United States. He was an entrepreneur and business owner. Nassef held a Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and owned and operated several businesses over his professional career in the manufacturing and dental fields. He treated his employees with respect and fairness and showed his appreciation for them at every opportunity. He was also a real estate investor and developer.

Growing up in Egypt, Nassef enjoyed playing soccer and in college was a rower on the Ain Shams University rowing team, competing at the elite level against rivals at Oxford and Cambridge. He served three years in the Egyptian Army. Later in life he enjoyed many hobbies including watching a wide variety of sports, gardening, cooking, and enjoyed listening to country music. He was a follower of current events of American and world politics and cared deeply for America.

Nassef had an outgoing personality and was friendly with everyone he met. He enjoyed knowing many people and never knew a stranger. He had a glass half full outlook on life and always tried to find the best in every situation.

Nassef’s life and legacy will be remembered fondly by his many family and friends.
