On Tuesday, March 21, 2023 Patricia Nicole Moran, passed away at the age of 69.
Patricia, or Peachie as she was known to those closest to her, was born on April 12, 1953 in Franklin, New Jersey. She was a caring and devoted wife to her husband René and loving mother to her daughters Georgia and Ali and the many dogs who were lucky enough to call her mom as well.
Peachie had a vibrant and lively spirit. She had a sarcastic sense of humor, which she credited to her New Jersey upbringing, and she loved to laugh and make others laugh. She loved all holidays, and didn’t let any of them go by without appropriate festivities, especially Christmas. She had a true passion for Christmas trees that would rival Santa Clause himself, and she would go to great lengths to find the perfect tree – even if that meant returning subpar trees to the tree lot or even completely redecorating the tree a few days before Christmas. She loved anything that was a cause to make her and her family’s surroundings more beautiful.
Peachie was a true hippie child with deep roots in all things 60’s. After leaving Woodstock early because the bugs were just too big (something she always regretted) she left the East Coast for warmer weather and chiller vibes in California. There she met her first husband and together they had her first daughter, Georgia. While Peachie loved living by the beach, her love of nature eventually brought her to the mountains.
When Georgia was two, Peachie moved them to Lake Arrowhead, CA where her mom had a cabin. There, she met Lise Bissonnette who introduced her brother, René Bissonnette, the handsome French Canadian who had just rode his motorcycle across the country from Quebec. René knew so little English that Peachie was convinced that the two of them agreed about everything (they didn’t). They were soon married, and had her second child, Alexandra (Ali).
Peachie and René raised their two daughters in Lake Arrowhead, where they built a beautiful life and lived for nearly 25 years. She loved the forest and the trees and was most at peace when surrounded by nature. Peachie was a devoted mother who never missed an opportunity to take her daughters on a picnic by the lake or to cheer them on in their endeavors.
Peachie was diagnosed with ME/CFS in her late 30’s, and the illness forced her to change the way she lived. She fought hard to not let it define her and to remain an active part of her children’s lives. During the many days in which her illness relegated her to bed, she used the time to expand and nurture her mind and spirit. And though her energy dwindled, her spirit remained bright, and she remained ever present in her childrens’ lives.
Through her time reading and becoming more spiritually active, Peachie began to see death not as something to be feared, but as the next step in the journey, and she died peacefully in her bed, ready for her next great adventure and ready to let her spirit shine brighter than her body would allow.
In her life, Peachie loved her family and her dogs more than anything, and she put them above all else. She will be deeply missed by those who remain: her husband René, her daughters Georgia and Ali, sons-in-law Dave and Adam, grandchildren Maddox, Harper, Holden, Avery and Anderson, nephew John, brother John, and of course her dogs Scout and Revi, and granddogs Piper and Bruno.
Peachie will be greeted on the other side by her mother (Mimi), sister (Cassie), brother (Mickey), and so many dogs that will be thrilled to see her again.
Peachie wished for those looking to honor her memory in any way to donate to the Open Medicine Foundation which funds research and seeks to improve health care for complex diseases such as ME/CFS.
