Rinaldo Babore Obituary

Rinaldo was born on May 23, 1928 in Ortona, in the Abruzzo Region of Italy, on the Adriatic Coast. His parents were Concetta and Gerardo Babore. Rinaldo was the youngest of the five siblings. The others were Regina, Tommaso, Fioravante, and Rizziero.

From a young age Rinaldo learned that hard work, perseverance and respect for family, friends and acquaintances were his principles to live by. When Rinaldo was 22 years old he embarked on a journey to Venezuela after the devasting WWII in Italy. Venezuela proved to be a great success for him but, unfortunately, he decided to leave during political unrest and immigrated to California.

In California he met the love of his life, Mildred. They worked tirelessly

in the Italian deli and restaurant business and managed to build a home in Valley Center, California where they lived comfortably for many years. Sadly, Mildred passed away in January 2000.

In 2015 Rinaldo went to live in San Marcos. He enjoyed his apartment in San Marcos. Then after several years and declining health, Rinaldo moved to the Linden in Murrieta/Ivy Park where he enjoyed the activities offered especially dancing with some of the residents until recently. He was truly happy these past few years and participated in many activities. Rinaldo made new friends who encouraged and supported him to the end.

Many obstacles were placed before Rinaldo over the years. He told many memorable stories of his failures and successes. He often commented though, that “God always looked after him and he was very thankful.”

Rinaldo is survived by his brother Rizziero in New York City, and numerous relatives in Italy, Canada, United States, and Japan.

Rinaldo’s family especially nieces Cecilia Cupido and Milvia Nazarko take this opportunity to thank the staff and residents in Ivy Park and Reliable Hospice for all their generous help and evident respect for Rinaldo during his stay. Many thanks to Mike and Shannon Sykes, Ben Rinner and Kathy Lopez, friends who gave a helping hand when family could not be present.

Rest in Peace Rinaldo

Rinaldo was a Character, a Pool shark extraordinaire, I only won maybe 3 games with him and after his victories, there was always a cheesy grin on his face. Rinaldo loved to dance, really love to dance with his lady friends at the Linden 2and at the Pachanga Resort, in fact Rinaldo was so good at dancing that husbands would even let their wives dance with Rinaldo. That's a good dancer, and when Rinaldo was driving, Shannon and I would find him at the Pachanga Resort at his table of buddies and dancing lady friends he knew there. Rinaldo was a gentlemen who possessed a truly kind and good soul and expressed that to all his family and friends that I have seen Rinaldo with. Rinaldo was a wonderful neighbor and I always loved our talks, just sitting on his patio talking about history or just anything. Rinaldo also had a wealth of knowledge on wine making and growing wine grapes from his days in Italy with his family and he always had answers for us with our small vineyard. Rinaldo showed me how to prune our grapes which I had then named "Rinaldo's grapes". Shannon would bake pastries for Rinaldo and Rinaldo would always bring by big bags of fruit from his orchard and every manner of candy and crackers in that bag, and even until recently, Rinaldo always had a stash of paper towel wrapped cookies, that I am sure management at the Linden wondered where all the cookies went to... we are talking "A lot of Cookies". I loved it. Rinaldo has a loving family, always there for him and his loving friends, near and far and those close friends at the Linden truly love him and he them, really wonderful and caring folks. All those bingo games, dances, parties and conversations they shared. Rinaldo always talked about these times with his buddies. We will always miss Rinaldo here, but for now we will remember a really good friend and when you look at any picture of Rinaldo, it will always put a smile on your face. "That's Rinaldo". Rest in Peace Rinaldo, Mike and Shannon

G Pa Ron as we all knew him was a joy to so many of us . I knew him since 2006. In that time we spent many holidays dancing with our Cabaret friends Mike, Bernedette, Joanne, Bill and many more. We shared some amazing times with a lot of laughter. He will certainly be missed. Save a dance for all of us.💕😽🙏 Link
