Robert Dee “Bob” Duncan, 83, passed away on February 10, 2025, in Temecula, California. Born on January 20, 1942, in Huntington Park, California, Bob lived a life defined by intellect, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those around him.
Bob’s pursuit of knowledge led him to earn an MBA, and a bachelors in engineering. His career was diverse—he served as a union representative for the Los Angeles Water District and later shared his expertise as a calculus teacher at Lakeside Highschool. His passion for education extended beyond the classroom, as he spent time tutoring and inspiring young minds to embrace learning.
A proud Marine Officer, Bob served with honor during the Vietnam War. His dedication to his country reflected his strength and deep sense of duty.
Beyond his professional and military achievements, Bob had an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He found joy in boating, skiing, and working with horses—activities that reflected his love for both nature and discovery. Additionally, he championed women in engineering, advocating for greater opportunities within the field he cherished.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Alberta Bee Mayfield Duncan and Robert Luther Duncan. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his wisdom and generosity.
A viewing will be held on February 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, located at 24651 Washington Ave., Murrieta, California. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place at the Roupe Residence at 24476 Ridgewood Dr., Murrieta, California, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
