Robert Nieves (1941 – 2024)

Bob Nieves passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. He was a devoted husband to Margie,

dedicated father to Patsy, Robert, Mark, and Valerie and stepfather to Elizabeth and Matthew.

He was a wonderful brother to Ray and Francis, adored grandfather to 12, great-grandfather to

16 and great-great grandfather to 3, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a true renaissance man.

As a young man, Bob served 2 combat tours in the Army in Vietnam. He went on to serve as a

guard on the Czechoslovakian border during the Cold War then was a nuclear weapons

inspector. During his time in the Army, Bob received numerous medals – including a Bronze

Star for bravery, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant.

Bob was a determined, driven and dedicated man. He earned his GED while active in the

Army then went on to achieve his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting.

Following the Army, Bob went on to many amazing careers. He was a Postmaster in several

cities throughout California. He taught Accounting at the college level; he was an HR manager

in several companies. Throughout his life, Bob was a mentor and guide to myriad of people

helping them on to their own successes.

Bob and his beloved wife Margie retired to Beaumont and Murrieta, California, enjoying well deserved time with his family, golfing, football and travel.

Bob leaves behind a tremendous legacy of love, family, honor, passion and strength.
