Samuel David Martinez

April 9th, 1998 – July 27th, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that I write this in honor of my baby brother, Samuel David Martinez, who was taken from us far too soon.

Samuel was the youngest of three and the only son. He grew up with older sisters who loved, protected, and cherished him from the very beginning. From an early age, Samuel had a way of making people feel lighter. His big, infectious smile could brighten any room, and his laugh was impossible not to join in on.

One of the things I admired most about Samuel was his love for animals, especially dogs. He was always rescuing abandoned or neglected strays, and even when he had very little, he found a way to feed and care for them. His heart simply wouldn’t let him look the other way. That kindness was just who he was.

Samuel also loved music. He was always singing his favorite songs or serenading the people he loved most. No matter what life threw at him, he tried to hold onto hope and find something to smile about. His positivity, even during difficult times, was something that touched everyone around him.

Samuel was a beloved son, brother, uncle, fiancé, cousin, and friend. He leaves behind so many people who loved him deeply, and his absence will be felt forever.

When I think of Samuel, I don’t want to remember the way we lost him. I want to remember his laughter, his singing, his jokes, his big smile, and the love he gave so freely. That is who he was, and that is how I will always carry him in my heart.

this is so heartbreaking. so young. when my daughter was born sam and Dayna stayed with me in the hospital for 3 days straight it was so cool cause I didn't really know him but he stayed anyways they slept in my room and everything my daughter's actually named after him. I asked my sister Dayna to name my daughter and she named her Samantha Ashley Brown so he lives on through her in a way I believe. Rest easy Sammy you will be missed.

So many memories with Sam , it's hard to pick just one! I think one of the funniest ones is when Sam first started staying with us and James & I had went to bed and around 2-3 a.m James woke up and Sam was sitting in a lawn chair right by our bed just staring at us, James woke me up and says "Cara get your weirdo friend" playing of course! Sam said he was scared of the Satanist getting him! Omg it was so Hilarious! Sam touched our hearts from day one always so helpful so respectful to us! He won our hearts immediately! We will forever tell your many parts of our stories Sam! As long as our story goes on so will yours! You You will forever hold a big piece of our hearts ! We are so lucky to have been part of your journey and wouldn't change that for anything! Fly High Homeboy, we love your life Always! R.I.P SAMUEL MARTINEZ!♥️♥️💯

There truly wasn’t anyone like Samuel. You wrote this so beautifully. He was a light in this world. His personality and energy lit up every room he walked into. He was so funny, so much fun, and so kind and caring. He changed so many people’s lives just by his kindness. He was so special, and everyone loved him. You couldn’t help but love him. He was truly one of a kind, and I’m beyond heartbroken and devastated to have lost such a loving soul so soon. I will cherish him. He will always be in my heart, and I will never forget him. I’m so beyond sorry to your family and everyone else who has a massive hole in their hearts. I love you forever, Samuel. You’re everyone’s angel now. Until we meet again, my friend. XOXOXO

2016 beach nights in San Diego with Sam were my favorite. Our rave days in San Francisco were even better. Sam will always hold a special place in my heart, I love him dearly!

So many memories...From you sticking your stinky feet in my face as a kid, saying, "Smellllll them! They smell like stwa bewwies!" because you couldn't pronounce your Rs yet.To all of us being crammed into that tiny apartment in Vista, when you walked out in Mom's pink onesie pajamas, struck a superhero pose, and had all of us crying with laughter. Then watching you grow up, with alllll of my friends commenting, "If only he wasn't so young..." because you were just that handsome and charming but never seemed to realize it.And one of my favorite memories of all was watching you with your niece, the two most important people in my life together.Helping raise you shaped me into the person and mother that I am.I love you, miss you, and think about you every single day.
