Vergilio Muñoz Dagan, age 82 from Cavite City, Philippines passed away on February 27, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1943 in Pateros Metro Manila, Philippines to Jesus and Avelina Dagan.

He proudly served 20 years of his life to United States Marine Corps (USMC) years defined not just by service, but by unwavering discipline, courage, and quiet sacrifice. Rising through the ranks to become a Gunnery Sergeant (E-7), he earned the respect of those he led and the trust of those beside him. He was the kind of Marine who carried both responsibility and camaraderie with equal weight.

During the Vietnam War, he answered his nation’s call without hesitation. In the face of danger, he stood his ground with bravery that would later be marked by the awarding of the Purple Heart—an honor reserved for those wounded in combat, for those who have shed blood in service of others.

Throughout his distinguished career, he was recognized with numerous honors and distinctions, each reflecting his dedication, skill, and exemplary conduct.

But beyond the medals and rank was a man of deep resilience. His strength was not only forged in battle, but in the way he carried those experiences with dignity in the years that followed. When his time in uniform came to an end, he was honorably discharged, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, sacrifice, and honor.
