Vincent Sweeney, 77, born 4-27-1947 in Laramie Wy passed away Feb 23, 2025 at Loma Linda Hospital Loma Linda, California after a long battle with cancer and heart problems.

 

He had many interests and vocations during his life but he was most proud of teaching and coaching. He was a triathlete, loved the outdoors, climbed Mount McKinley, sculptor of steel, life long learner of philosophy, art, history and literature and an ardent passionate advocate for the unborn. Vincent loved to talk to everyone touching the lives of many with his open hearted nature.

 

He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Kathleen, daughter. Joanna and husband Kyle Spielbuehler, daughter Alison and husband Dustin Rico, cherished grandchildren, Ava, Jake, Daisy and Lilly, siblings Mary Sweeney, James Sweeney, Patricia Abbasi, Frances Glodt , Margaret Hall, Theresa Sawyer, and John Sweeney and numerous loved nieces and nephew and extended family.

He was predeceased by his brother David Joseph Sweeney, sister Katherine Hughes, father Sylvester Sweeney and mother Theresa Sweeney.

 

Services will be held at

Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, Murrieta Ca. at 9:30 am on March 11, 2025 followed by a graveside service at Murrieta Valley Cemetery (Laurel).

Vince’s warmth, tenacity and generosity will live on in all who knew him. He was a good man.
